When the USA shocked Russia, 4-3, at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics, Curt Chaplin was covering the game as a sports reporter for the ABC Radio Network. Standing on a camera platform in the crowd, he did play-by-play of the entire game into his tape recorder, capturing the event on tape forever. Now, after 25 years, these tapes have been rediscovered and matched to the video. The result is a dramatic, stirring and completely original experience for sports fans all over the world. Great video! How did you get this? I love this guy's call of the game. Does anyone know where this was heard when it was originally broadcast? Perhaps radio somehwere? Also, does anyone know this man's name? It's a great call of the game only to be outdone by perhaps the most famous call in American sports history.

Ahhh, got it, Danno, Thanks! I can watch this all night. LOL I was 17 when this happened and even now at 46, it is still just as exciting! Love Chaplin's child like enthusiasm. He called the game just as any other every day fan watching the game would have called it. Fantastic stuff!

I remember, we weren't on the edge of seats for this one... we were on the carpet on all fours yelling and screaming every time the puck hit a stick - or didn't. pounding on the floor and then going complete apesh*t when it ended... so , so cool... I still get goosebumps watching!

Just finished watching the film 'MIRACLE' this is a fantastic story
I dont agree with zbone12 comment about it being the greatest moment in american history. But from the world of sport it most definatley is up there with the greatest- apart from when England beat Germany in 1966, but thats just me being biast.
