though it is true that the new movie is quite similar to the old one i think it IS worth watching it! and i think the actors in the new movie are way better than in the original one (not only because of the funny austrian accent). michael pitt seems more fanatic and crazy, the austrian guy looks too normal and doesn't seem like a brutal psycho to me. i like the remake

its not stupid it acutally just gives more sense to the movie
the real thing about the movie is that paul knows it is a movie he talks to the pyblic and breaks the fourth wall and he also avoids the victory of the family thus avoiding the movie transforming into a cliche... you need to think it more the rewind scene is not there because he just though it would be cool, it has a reason...

Well done re-make and picture but boring due to exploitation with terror and violence as a theme. It has been done before and it has been done better. This one is uninteresting and falls short of being thought provoking. It's intention to leave an impression is way too desperate. It doesn't have any enteraining and interesting plot either. Waste of time.

yea i got that.. it just doesn't make sense to me, why not just keep the german one with subtitles? I mean, i would understand if he did something different in the remake... maybe... but the fact that it was scene for scene the same as the german one, i just think its stupid. AND most people who do remakes didnt make the original. idfk i just think he did it because he had no work and just figured, i'll just redo this in america.. i hate americans.

Everything about this movie besides the acting and the plot, SUCKED ASS. I mean, sure it looks good when you see the trailer but the actual movie sucks ass. The opening credits take forever, when the woman is tied up, you have to fucking fast forward this shit for about a minute. This movie was shot and edited terribly and they barly show the violence. When the woman shoots the guy, the other guy is like "look out!" that makes no sence, he's already shot!

this flim was bad. i mean im freaking positive if they showed more voilence and less of one freaking scene of the man crying and all of the other scenes that they needed to edit out. i hate watching scenes like that they take for freaking ever. we got the point hes crying cuz hes son is dead. move on. it needs more gory. but the plot is so great. but the movie sucked. i feel like becoming a director just to make this movie because no one seems to know how

The remake was intended to bring the story to a wider audience, and I think the inclusion of these great actors was a master stroke (I speak as someone who hasn't seen the film, but understands why it was done)....I do note that this trailer is desperately trying to conjure A Clockwork Orange :-)
