You can use vegetable Glycerin and water to moisturize. You can also twist your hair in two strand twist to clip the ends. As far as shampoo...I use a shampoo from Trader Joes with no sulfate, for only $2.49! If you dont have a trader joes near you, most stores sell doctor bronners natural peppermint soap. you can use that on skin and hair.

I usually clip my ends as I am two strand twisting it. After each row or sometimes after each twist I just dust the ends. Also I dealt with shedding for the first 4 months of being natural and I have found out that water is manditory inside and out. I drink about 100oz of water a day and I spritz my hair with plain water every single day and this has helped wonderfully. As far as the shampoo and conditiner go I just 7 months in so I'm still figuring that one out.

Do Floevatv's Whipped Shea Butter recipe if u dont do 1 already I use it all ova 2. It's wonderful chg the oils if you want. Shea Butter like that &/or whipped w/ IC gel seems to do better than commerical products thus far 4 me. Along w/ oil spritz. I use Millcreek Botanicals Biotin Shampoo. Biotin is a vit that helps hair skin & nails grow & glow. Shampoo is certified Organic is cost me $5.84 from a store called Steven's Drugs in W.L.B,NJ. Im sure could be bought online also. Hope it helps.

You're conditioning, but have you put protein on your hair at all? You need a good moisture/protein balance to keep your hair healthy :) For the shedding, are you sleeping on a satin pillowcase or wearing a satin bonnet?

I love Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap. It lather's up but doesn't have any unnatural chemicals. I use coconut oil, shea butter, avocado oil, olive oil with mayo. Apple cider vineger with rosemary oil rinse. Daily moisterizer with Veggie glycerine and water spray. Apply the melted shea butter while your hair is wet, it works better.

I haven't tried shikaki powder with amla powder for the shedding yet, but I heard it's good. It's for strengthening. Satin bonnets are good.

I like Creme of Nature (green) Ultra Moisturizing Shampoo (will detangle before the conditioner!). I like the Elasta QP Deep conditioner. For a co wash- try SunSilk Straighten-up conditioner. Great slip after the co-wash! For styling - INVEST IN THE KINKY CURLY CURLING CUSTARD!! I just clip my ends when my hair is in twists. Before I do the twist out, I will clip just the ends (1/4"). hmmm... i love peppermint... maybe i will try it... i just ordered pure black soap ... i will probably add peppermint essential oil to it and wash with that sometimes also

no lather shampoo method is called no pooing...the lather agents (sodium laurel/laureth sulfate) are very drying to black ppl's hair. you don't have to have lather to clean hair. look for all-natural shampoos (organic and natural food stores or online)...or try a co-wash (conditioner only wash) with a moisturizing conditioner...it really does clean your hair!

as far as the shedding, make sure you tie your hair up at night with a silk or satin scarf. also our diet can affect our hair...drink the recommended amount of water, eat the recommended daily amount of friuts and veggies...and take a multi vitiman!
check out the vids of najahface (especially Natural Hair Care: The Basics) and canadianlioness1...they have tons of vids on everything from a-z that has to do with natural hair.

welcome! i forgot to tell you, if you do the vegetable glycerin and water mix, make sure you add 3-15 drops of essential oil (rosemary, peppermint, citrus, etc...) or else it may mold!

But your hair is very pretty but product wise there are a lot of rage about qhemet biologics and for shedding you can use aphogee which is a protein treatment to keep it long and to keep down the shedding you can get trim by twisting your hair up in to 1stand twist and clipping the ends this is an easier way

Giovanni Organic Hair Care...you can get it at Target or a whole foods store. The shampoo and conditioner are great and its what you are asking for. Also, if you go to Target and look in the child section and there are shampoos that they make for children with no laureth. But the Giovanni line has no laureth and no sulfate. You'll love it. Its in the natural products section at Target usually. Hope that helps.

also want to say dont use pantene shampoo or conditioner it takes the hair out, slowly relaxes it and makes it shed alot.PlEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!!

also go on the internet and type in pantene causes natural texture hair to fall out. or something along these lines. you will see so many people complaing about pantene damaging their hair. I am a victim!!!

I don't use shampoo on my hair. I like co washing with herbal essence totally twisted conditioner in the purple bottle. The alcohol in shampoo is what makes the lather and it dries out natural hair. If you really feel liek you need the lather in shampoo, make sure you use a really good conditioner, but using conditioner alone will clean the scalp. You can also you baking soda and water to clean the scalp...1tbsp baking soda to 1 cup of water. good luck!
