PORT JERVIS — Parents and students armed with posters, picket signs and raw emotion stood unified in the back of the Port Jervis High School cafeteria last night.
They didn't simply come to the school board meeting because Tony DiMarco is their leader. They came because he is their friend.
The resounding support came too late, though. The board, by a majority vote, accepted the beloved high school principal's retirement last night. Two board members -- Cathy Sadaghiani and Michael Bello -- publicly denounced the move and voted against it.
