This was the runner-up to the worthy winner, Ireland's Dana with 'All Kinds Of Everything.
A quote from co-writer of 'KKWT' John Carter ... 'I think Mary Hopkin regretted Eurovision. She didn't want to do it and was talked into it. I don't think she liked the record.'

sould of won but finished second to dana, we were robbed ,dana got, in my eyes the sympathy vote,for what was happening in northern ireland at the time ....

Both Mary and Dana had a great songs and 1970a very competitive year. Dana won fairly and shortly after went to No.1 in the UK and Australian charts. I went out and bought both records - still have them! Both these fine singers still performing live shows.

you could have duran duran or take that or robbie williams singing ,there no way a western european nation will win eurovision again, as for trouble it was the youth of derry attacking the apprentice boys march then the police ,and it spreading to belfast that started it , nothing to do with us, ireland didnt even get through to euro last year, mary hopkins song was definately the better song, why dont you put that manniquin face,daniel o.donnell in , lets have a laugh

Oh, I forgot about that. I was an american kid living abroad with my grandparants and saw that show. I remember asking my grandfather why America was'nt in the competition. I told him that Elvis would have blown them all away, He laughed like hell.

I am a Judith Durham fan but always loved Mary Hopkins marvelous, clear, and touching voice as well. She always has been an exciting performer. What a voice!
