Your an idiot. Mercedes and BMW are still ahead of Lexus who do make great cars. Pretty much every technological advance in cars was in the Mercedes S-class first. Lexus just copy and then try to do it better. LExus cant innovate. Deal with it.
Lexus copies? Let's see, who is now copying Lexus' automatic parking system? Audi. Who copied Lexus RX to make a luxury crossover SUV? BMW(X3). What luxury automakers got scared when Lexus LS was introduced? Mercedes and BMW.
Nice try though.
Ever heard Mercedes' Bluetec? Mercedes' pathetic attempt to match Lexus hybrid. And yet, horribly failed. Firstly, introducing a DIESEL in such anti-diesel continent like North America? Who drives diesel SUVs other than truck drivers in North America?
And BMW has one cheap car called 1 series. Lexus has no such thing, since Lexus is a luxury brand, not some luxury wannabe brand like BMW.
So now blaming the consumers of America. I must say that's the reason why Mercedes Bluetec failed miserably already. If the companies can not see it through, then why do they make products? It's too bad, but Merc Bluetec will never be as famous as Lexus hybrid.
Mercedes Bluetec has failed? News to me. Its the only diesel engine in the Wards 10 best engine awards and is by far the worlds cleanest diesel engine.
We have a Toyota landcruiser Amazone at home that is used as a pure workhorse. In America its badged a lexus. Wow, thats really exclusive luxury.
And i have one word for you DiesOtto. Unleaded engine with the efficiency of a small diesel. No other company comes close to it.
Land Cruiser and LX still look entirely different and at least, LX still has more luxurious interior than Land Cruiser. And Land Cruiser is still more reliable than any Mercedes car can ever dream of.
And Toyota, IS luxury.
How exactly is a highly efficient diesel engine in anyway an attempt to match a hybrid car? Its clean diesel. Lexus' hybrids have shown themselves to be a complete joke and returns terrible mpg on the larger cars.
Read any English magazine and the S-class is always ahead of the LS.
Ford CEO drives Lexus LS, and he calls it the finest car in the entire world. I mean, he obviously has money to buy Merc S class or BMW 7 series, but he ended up buying LS and says it is the best.
I guess that's because that's the truth? Hybrid is a joke? Stop wishing.
You're trying to make it out like i dont like Lexus. I would take the IS over the 3 series every day and i would take the LS over the 7 because its much better looking. Both are still behind the S-class in my opinion.
I don't know about you, but I really don't see the point of Merc S.
Without the s-class there would be no LS
Oh yeah and what does Lexus produce that can compete with an S65? Or even a S63?
Btw Mercedes hybrid will be the first with lithium ion battery technology. Isnt that lexus speciality?
Well, if there was no Lexus, the German automakers would still keep building unreliable cars today. Toyota actually knew about it before they made Lexus, because many people were complaining about the luxury cars' reliability.
Recent reliability shows that Mercedes is still below average, and not even beating Ford Fusion.
Lexus doesn't need AMG as long as they actually release LF-A.
It doesn't matter as long as Lexus hybrid sells more. Bluetec has no chance in North America whatsoever anyway.
And no, Toyota did not know for years about Mercedes reliability problems because they had none. Old mercedes are the most reliable cars ever built. It was only in the late 90s that it started going downhill a bit. And in the last couple of years the new cars appear to be as reliable as the legendary old ones.
The worlds highest mileage car ever is an old E-class taxi in turkey which has almost 3million miles on it.
Mercedes-Benzs continued attention to detail has enabled it to pass its competitors and rise to the top rank in 2008. The continued industry leading performance of the Mercedes-Benz East London plant is particularly remarkable considering that the plant was retooled in 2007...
