"Sheit" is easy and a pretty accurate approximation of how the word is pronounced by most southerns. skrait (straight?) and skreet (street?), otoh, are completely unfamiliar to me. i've never heard those words (assuming i guessed correctly) pronounced that way, north, south, east, or west. what is it? gullah? if so, then it's more of a patois than a proper english dialect.

i was born in the north. my father is a southerner and my mother is european. i was raised in europe, the north, and dixie. am i any less a southron for all that? i assure you that i am not only southern, but militantly so. my auditory hallucinations or your tin ear - who can objectively say?

SA....you can agree with me that Conely, really wasn't a good representative of SC, more a less a strong political party or idealogy. It was make it up as you go, hijacking a political seat candicancy for Senate, how low would one go to side step the political system and the people?
Isn't also ironic that Conely margin of defeat was greater then Obama's statewide?
Don't be upset when the yankee transplant calls you the northern avernger, you supported the guy trying to rip off SC.
