Cause he changed it and missed all the important bits, Tom Bombadil, Barrow Downs, Old Forest, the fact that Sam DID go into Shelobs Lair with Frodo. I'm not denying the fact this is my favourite film of all time, and still can't wait for more awesome music and just a general great film in The Hobbit, I'm glad Ian Holmes is Bilbo, Ian McKellen is Gandalf, and I think it will be good that Christopher Lee is voicing Smaug, I always thought he would do it, I hope Hans Zimmer does the music though.

well if you think about it, tom bombadil didn't really move the story furthur, but if you compare it to the accuracy the harry potter movies and the aroagon movies, it's one of the damn closest-to-the-book ,movies I've seen ^^
