BETTER performance? Sorry, haha, but you are wrong. I can run Linux, all the eye candy on this video, have Firefox open with 100 tabs or so, play WoW on Wine, and run Windows Vista under a Virtual Machine, with Photoshop and Illustrator running on it, and Linux is *STILL* faster than Windows. On Windows, I can barely run one program, and it gets very unstable. However, running Windows stuff ON Linux, is fast. Get it? Wake up :P BTW Unix has a longer story than Windows. Google it. Shut up now.

BTW games I run on Linux (like Guild Wars and WoW) run with all effects turned on, AND the games run faster and with higher FPS. I'm never giving up Linux. Never.

i'm having trouble with copying the iso to a CD. any suggestions? i keep gettin I/O errors. lol, makes me soo mad..

Right click My Computer.
Select Manage from the menu.
In the Computer Management window, select Device Manager.
In the right pane, click to expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
Identify your CD/DVD drive in the expanded menu and right click the appropriate drive.
Select Properties.
In the Properties windows, click the Advanced Settings tab.

In the Transfer Mode box that represents your CD/DVD drive (typically Device 1); open the dropdown menu and select PIO Only.

i had errors with 3 cd's!! but after some google time i found that when burning the image, burn it at the slowest time. that worked for me :)

Oh cut the crap off how many games can you play? ha? only wow how about Assassin creed gta iv Fable 2 Fallout 3 None. What I meant that Windows has a longer better Business carrier... Maybe Linux is cool for you know the Desktop stuff but that ain't a system for Gamers so I still wouldn't buy it.... But if the game producers would make good games for Linux too than I would've switched to Linux a long time ago.

I am very happy with Windows Vista. Why the heck do pepole complain if they dont know what they are talking about? and linux, talk about NOT easy to use. I cant live without .EXE files

Um I know one cool thing about running linux over windows. My box has been up and running now for 16 days (only had to reboot recently because of an update) and it is still running nice and fresh like I had just booted it up. I still have vista on here for dual boot but I think that I only go in there once a month to play MS Flight Sim all of my other games run great in linux.

Most people who "use linux" are in fact just 14 year olds with no real understanding of how computers work; they just name drop to feed some immature sense of satisfaction; this usually goes away after puberty. Linux is not really needed in a consumer end desktop environment.
Go into a research lab, though, and you'll be playing a whole different ballgame, as most toolchains for such are unix based.

I bought a laptop that came with Vista and i didn't like Vista so i downloaded AlienWare, now Vista and AlienWare both won't come off.....so now my laptop won't do 3D flip for vista, its wierd....my laptop is very odd
