There are some similarities. The difference being that YouTube is online, while podcasts are downloaded and stored for offline viewing, too.

Mostly depends on your connection speed and location of the server you are connecting to. :)
Stage6 was pretty good quality streaming site, but it's down now.

this should be a podcast. even when I don't care about the topic, it is still fun to watch! you should set it up on itunes for all of your great viewers and you could make a video called, "How to subscribe to the common craft show on itunes" yes I already subscribe to you on youtube but it is not as good and would LOVE them to be on my ipod!
