Originally in 1939 in South Africa by Solomon Linda, then by Pete Seeger with the Weavers in the 1950s, then of course the Tokens got hold of the song and it became the ubiquitous "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in 1961.

Solomon Linda's Mbube became synonymous with that style of African close harmony... he was a genius who didn't get the credit he deserved.
And take a look at the keyword "also", where I was pointing out to other youtube users that they should check them out....
Stop looking for things where there isn't anything to look for!
However her version is in Zhulu, and the lyrics is a bit different.
