iv seen both animusic DVD's, very clever, love there computer arts. i still think it would be cooler if they covered existing songs, i dont know maybe a bit of satriani or clapton idk.

This is not a harpsichord. It is in fact closer to a piano than a harpsichord.
In a harpsichord, the notes are produced by plucjing the strings inside. That's why you get such a clear tone.
In a piano, the strings are hit by "hammers" which are covered in felt.
What I do agree with, however, is the fact that this thing sounds more like a harpsichord than a piano.

it is a harpsichord, or closer to the harpsichord. the strings are being plucked by little pluckers on the side of the string, not hit by hammers like pianos.

Does it really matter what instrument it is? It's a fantasy CGI toy, it could look like a drum and sound like a duck for all it mattered. Yes, it sounds like a harpsichord more than anything else. From what I can see, it looks like (doesn't sound like, but looks like) this:
One set acts like a harpsichord
One set acts as a xylophone
One is a drum
One is chimes
The rest act like pianos
