I love the play on ... ( 1 month ago by AestheticizeAnalog)
I love the play on materialism or idealism (intentional or not) with regards to Hegel and Kant's comment about the Greek goal vs. Marx's.

well it wouldn't be a "paradox" if that could actually happen. in fact he got to the stadium, but he felt it was appropriate to die and strangled himself.
The real paradox is ... ( 1 month ago by noliketoregister)
The real paradox is that Zeno never figured out that by this logic he could never have moved at all in the first place.
i think he got that ... ( 1 month ago by merdufer)
i think he got that. he used that "paradox" for reductio proof to get to the claim that motion is impossible.
i think the paradox lies in the fact that motion is possible in real life, but not possible according to his seemingly correct logic.

No, that's what's great. If you watch the tape, you'll see that Marx is right. Socrates *is* off-sides. Marx is the only one who's right, the only philosopher interacting with the actual world. The skit supports Marx's famous thesis on Feuerbach: The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to score a goal while not getting off-sides. (Or something close to that.)
Beckenbauer is well ... ( 3 weeks ago by artfantasies)
Beckenbauer is well placed in this match because he had read Confuzius ;). You could have seen this 1990 at the world champion ship in Italy, he went nuts. But I thought Socrates was a brasilian libero? : o
As the referee Kirkegaard would be the right one because of his measured steps IMO. Marx is fantastic here.
...what people ... ( 3 weeks ago by Sioux2)
...what people don't understand is that Dionysos offered one of his balls - the one in black and white - just to give them little creatures some entertainment.
So why was it that Socrates scored, not realizing there was Dionysos watching with a whimsical smile, thinking: "Look at 'em little creatures enjoying themselves, cheering for a virtual victory - while being on a fast slide downhill!"
(Anyway, feel free to check out my videos/playlists for some Dionysos material)

With no kick off, each team should've been on their own side. Poor job Confucious.
